Lienz, with its compact structure, presents itself as a city where everyday routes can easily be covered within 10 minutes on foot. The attached walking time map vividly illustrates how quickly public facilities in the city can be reached on foot.

This project aims to make the often hidden manufactures visible and achieve recognition and customer outreach through a common platform. In the context of downtown development, the manufactures should be part of a new economic stability and competitiveness. Craftsmanship and manufacturing talent should be highlighted and contribute to strengthening the economic location through cooperation.

The city of Lienz promotes humus formation through compost with the project "Regional soil improvement". The goal is to sustainably improve agricultural soils and make sensible use of regional waste resources.

City centers are currently undergoing a transformation - but in a positive sense, as due to their high customer frequency and good economic environment, urban centers are becoming increasingly important for manufactories and small production businesses. At the same time, craft businesses present an opportunity for inner-city development, as their unique, incomparable offerings create a unique selling point compared to other locations.

As part of the cross-border project "Blooming Cities", a photo competition with different focal points was carried out last year by the Photo Clubs Lienz and Bruneck. Citizens of the city of Bruneck focused on the theme of "Biodiversity in Urban Spaces" and in Lienz, the urban trees and their significance were brought into focus.

Within the LEADER project "Green Space Management as an Instrument for Climate Change Adaptation, L7-CLLD_IWB_Tirol-OSTT-15", the aim is to carry out a comprehensive analysis, cartographic recording, ecological assessment, and prioritization of measures on the "public green infrastructure" in the urban area.

In recent years, work has been continuously done on the redevelopment of the Lienz main square. In mid-June 2021, the first designs were presented to the public. In early July 2021, the City Lab opened its doors and all citizens were invited to view the designs of the new main square.

What is the local RegioNet? How far has the expansion of the existing network progressed, and how can one become a RegioNet customer?  

In an increasingly multilocal and digitalized world, broadband infrastructure is considered a central location criterion. The municipalities in East Tyrol have recognized this and have invested extensively in the passive broadband infrastructure in recent years.

In order to strategically set the right course, central measures and activities were developed in a participatory process involving citizens and stakeholders, which demonstrate a comprehensive need for change in the existing facilities. In addition to the participatory process, a sharpening in the form of a repositioning with the creation of a master plan is now to take place in continuation of the cooperative development process, and a future-oriented repositioning and profiling are to be developed. As part of thisdevelopment process, a concrete brand and positioning line is to be cooperatively developed and elaborated with the involvement of the population. Another objective is the creation of a project and action plan as well as the development of foundations for specific sub-projects adapted to climate change.

Inner cities are crucial anchor points for public life and sustainable development in functional regions. Within the framework of the Integrated Urban Development Concept ( Institute for Structural Engineering and Construction ), active shaping of the city center is promoted, focusing on urban qualities and quality of life. By incorporating regional perspectives and creating multiple city centers, the relationship between city and countryside is redefined. Topics such as climate adaptation, sustainability, and mobility offer potentials for the future. The aim is tostrengthen and further develop inner cities according to clear regional priorities.

Renewal and updating of the initially collected in 2008

The School Center North, which includes a total of 3 types of schools (elementary school, polytechnic school, and secondary school) has been under renovation since mid-2022 and is receiving a green front yard. The school center was built in the 1070s and is located near the district hospital.

The "Green Infrastructure" includes trees, shrubs, green and open spaces. They serve important functions for the city of the future such as recreational function, increasing biodiversity, air and water purification, flood protection, rainwater management, and adaptation to climate change, for example, by reducing urban heat islands.
