Intermunicipal cooperations location development

To improve the perception of our city and region and strengthen international competitiveness, we rely on intermunicipal cooperations. Together with the 14 municipalities in the Lienz valley floor, we have been focusing on close city-countryside cooperation since 2013.

More on this in the section "Future Space Lienz Valley Floor". In addition, we are working on a strategic city cooperation with Bruneck, Spittal an der Drau, and Hermagor. Together with these cities and their surrounding areas, we aim to develop as a European focal area positioned south of the Alps and to be a vital living and economic space in line with the EU Strategy for the Alpine Region. Thematic cooperations complement intermunicipal cooperation.
