Due to the central geographical location of the city, not only supra-local infrastructure facilities are concentrated in Lienz, but also the high quality of life, which makes housing with the fields of apartment search, allocation, and relocation a special area of responsibility of the city administration.  

The city"s housing policy is carried out in close partnership with non-profit housing developers.

Home is considered by many as a haven in a hectic world. In the Sun City Lienz, the housing committee takes care of the concerns of the citizens and deals with the allocation of apartments at intervals of about six weeks. This is done according to social criteria, taking into account factors such as income situation, family size, and the existing housing situation.  

The allocation is also significantly influenced by the housing promotion guidelines of the Office of the Tyrolean State Government, Dept. of Housing Promotion.
