Bruck Castle

“... worthy of a prince...", thus characterized by the Tyrolean topographer Beda Weber, Bruck Castle. For over 750 years, the castle, built by the Counts of Gorizia, has been towering high above the city of Lienz - both imposing and simple, offering a surprising variety. Its walls were once a symbol of power and residence of the Counts of Gorizia.

General

The population mainly knows the castle for its nationally recognized exhibitions, as an atmospheric venue for concerts, relaxing hours on the probably most beautiful sun terrace in the city, or civil weddings during the summer months. But behind the scenes, the employees take care of the museum"s extensive collection of over 20,000 objects and archival materials all year round, in order to preserve and make it accessible for future generations.

Our employees in the castle are responsible for the maintenance, preservation, and security of the objects and the building. The range of tasks includes the management, planning, and implementation of the museum and exhibition operations, the castle cafe and the museum shop, as well as the handling of extensive loan traffic, the processing of subsidy and funding applications, or the writing of publications.
