The disposal of residual waste in Lienz is regulated through a cooperation between the public sector and the private sector, known as Public Private Partnership involving three organizations.

In Lienz, there is a container system in pick-up mode for households and businesses. Larger quantities of bulky waste and commercial waste can also be delivered directly to the AWVO mass waste landfill in Lavant.
