Educational location

The city of Lienz is considered the educational center of the region. More than 4,100 children and teenagers from all over East Tyrol and neighboring Upper Carinthia attend a kindergarten or school in Lienz.

General

Five municipal kindergartens as well as two private childcare centers accompany the children through the preschool period. Well-trained specialist staff teach them valuable skills and enhance the children"s social competence.

Then the entry into the school system follows, which is very diverse in Lienz. Seven compulsory schools and nine secondary schools form the framework for a high level of education and a completed vocational training. Since 2016, it is also possible to pursue university education in the Sun City.

In order to strengthen the school and student location, a feasibility study on the topic "Strengthening the educational location through the establishment of an integrated student, student and apprentice home" was commissioned, which is supported by the LEADER funding of the European Union and the State of Tyrol.
