In the year 2014, the 15 municipalities of Ainet, Amlach, Assling, Dölsach, Gaimberg, Iselsberg-Stronach, Lavant, Leisach, Lienz, Nikolsdorf, Nußdorf-Debant, Oberlienz, Schlaiten, Thurn, and Tristach initiated a common strategic development process with the aim of close city-periphery cooperation in infrastructure issues, coordinated settlement and economic development, as well as administrative cooperation.and is aimed at the South Tyrolean Puster Valley..

Regional Governance for Sustainable Development and Social Center

The political control process is based on a multi-level Regional Governance approach with regional conferences, workshops, and retreats. The development process is supported by Planning Association 36, Lienz and surroundings, a municipal association defined according to the Tyrolean Spatial Planning Act.
