The early expansion of the cycle paths now allows both the local population and our guests to enjoy the magnificent natural landscape of East Tyrol with the Lienz Dolomites by bike. In recent years, Lienz has increasingly developed into a biking center. The expansion of the transregional Drau Cycle Path R1 from the source of the Drau in Toblach/Innichen to Maribor in Slovenia has significantly contributed to this.

Lienz as the ultimate "Bike Arena"

Anyone who comes to Lienz for the first time immediately understands why this region can be called a "Bike Arena": to the north lies the mighty Schober Group, and to the south rise the Lienz Dolomites.

In addition, there are the local mountains such as Hochstein, Zettersfeld, or Ederplan. Together, they form a mountain backdrop that encloses our city - like the tiers of an arena - and is a highlight on every tour. In the Bike Arena, you will find fantastic mountain bike tours in a unique mountain setting.

Already 25 day tours and 5 multi-day stages have been developed and can be ridden. Currently, over 600 km of mountain bike trails are available.

For road cyclists, the mountain stages around Lienz are a constant challenge. Especially the annual Dolomites Cycle Tour around the Lienz Dolomites makes every ambitious cyclist"s heart beat faster.
