General

One central area of responsibility is the so-called "inventory maintenance". This involves providing the local business community with good location-economic framework conditions and being their central point of contact. This area of responsibility describes structural topics such as the provision of fast internet, location-economic topics such as the best possible networking of regional value chains, up to the interface function between politics, administration, and economy.

Economic service

The Economic Service is a central point of contact for economic issues with the understanding of a modern "One Stop Shop". In cooperation with the various departments of the town hall, the know-how of the city administration is offered interdisciplinarily in connection with those of the relevant interest groups and authorities in economic matters. Emphasis is placed on addressing the needs of entrepreneurs individually and advising them comprehensively and time-efficiently.

The topics range from the search for suitable land for setting up a business, office and logistics spaces, infrastructure equipment to location figures, and specific questions regarding operational approval procedures. Upon request, a so-called "Scoping", a pre-authority consultation instrument, which involves all participating organizations and authorities and is intended to enable a rapid procedure processing, can also be organized.

Cooperation management

Cooperation management builds on enabling companies at the location to achieve so-called "agglomeration effects" through cooperation. This instrument strengthens the competitiveness of companies through cooperation at horizontal and vertical levels. Location development, economy, and marketing support cooperations at a spatial level, such as downtown interest groups "Upper Old Town", "Brass/Cross Alley", "Swiss/Muchar Street", "Dwarf Alley", and the main square.

Thematic cooperations such as the "Lienz City Market", the "Lienz Rose", the collaboration of local bakers in the "Original Lienz Lebzelt" project, and others are also supported. Municipal cooperation management includes formal support services for founding, strategy development, financing, implementation, and promotion of interest groups. Cooperation management consolidates regional forces, professionalizes and stabilizes cooperation, and forms networks.

Market management

In order to actively shape and control the attractiveness and appeal of the market system as a footfall driver and at the same time a platform for regional food and products, the specialist department takes on the function of market management on behalf of the city.

Funding management and project development

Here, the specialist department acts as an interface between funding applicants and supports good project ideas through expertise in close collaboration with the Osttirol Regional Management, Leader and Interreg funding bodies, the Tyrolean Location Agency, the Tyrolean Chamber of Commerce, and Innos, Innovative Osttirol GmbH. A particularly promising project for location development is the Lienz Station Mobility Center, for which the specialist department is actively involved in project development.
