Fair actions

The association Trikont, World Shop Lienz and the municipality of Lienz invited to a colorful and diverse "Week of Sustainability". A river walk on the Isel, a cooking course, lectures on climate change and sustainability, monocle films and clothing exchange actions were some of the well-attended program points. From September 11th to 18th, 2021, attention was deliberately drawn to the 17 goals of sustainability, the so-called SDGs in general and in East Tyrol.

In a special action, the students of Mittelschule Egger Lienz showed a lot of commitment for a fairer world. Thanks to the generous support of the municipality of Lienz and the World Shop Lienz, they were able to use high-quality Fairtrade products to bake delicious cookies. These were then handed over to the tea room Lienz, where they brought a lot of joy.

With this initiative, the pupils and the teaching staff, consisting of Paula Forcher, Dominik Müller, Linda Brandstätter and Corinna Rießlegger, put a sign of solidarity and fairness, and also drawn attention to the importance of sustainable consumption.

A big thank you to everyone involved who this beautiful action!

City coffee "The Fair Temptation"

Coffee enjoyment is very important in Lienz! Together with the municipality of Lienz and "Mocafe", the Trikont Weltladen association has created its own coffee mixture.

"The fairly loosener" was composed with the partner company "Eza" especially for the sun city of Lienz. The hand-picked highland Arabica beans from Mexico and Guatemala are freshly roasted in Lienz. The Lienz City Cap is sold "The Fairlocking Feature" in the world shop Lienz and in the "Mocafe".

„Setz ein Zeichen!  Regional wirtschaften! Fair handeln!

Sweet thank you for Lienz students

As a Fair Trade school, a school whose students are extremely committed to fair trade with small-scale farmers from the Third World, the Mittelschule Egger-Lienz has made an excellent name for itself in recent years. The students have been repeatedly awarded prizes for their efforts.

This year, the reward for the children"s efforts was particularly sweet: Instead of a certificate, the students of class "2i," under the leadership of Esther Unterkreuter, received a bar of Fairtrade chocolate. They deserved this because last year on World Food Day in Lienz, they distributed 200 Fairtrade bananas to passersby in the Lienz city center.

What not only pleased the students but also Gabriele Schwab, the principal of Mittelschule Egger-Lienz, was the fact that during the distribution, not only the children of "2i" were each given a bar of chocolate, but all 267 students. The delicacies were delivered by Mayor Elisabeth Blanik and Environmental Committee Chairwoman Gerlinde Kieberl, who distributed the chocolates among the children.
