The care and design of public garden and park areas (city parks, traffic islands, etc.) are also part of the responsibilities of the Forestry and Gardening department, as well as the maintenance of the municipal forest of the city of Lienz.

The regularly updated tree cadastre is also managed here. It contains more than 3,000 trees located on public land that are regularly inspected. Department head Ing. Martin König is also responsible for urban hunting management. The city of Lienz owns three hunting grounds, two of which are leased out. The Schwarzboden hunting ground is managed by the city itself.
