Whistleblower system

In implementation of Directive (EU) 2019/1937 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 October 2019 on the protection of persons reporting breaches of Union law, the Union Law Violations Whistleblower Act - UVHG, LGBl. No. 23/2022, pursues the aim that violations of EU legal provisions can be reported simply, safely, and confidentially.

Public and private organizations are required to establish an internal reporting system for this purpose, to review incoming reports, and if necessary, to take the necessary measures.

In this sense, according to the UVHG, all employees of the city of Lienz and their former employees have access to an internal reporting office if they have obtained information about violations of the legal provisions covered by § 3 UVHG in the course of their professional activities (see § 8 UVHG).

External reporting office

Furthermore, the State People"s Advocate is available as an external reporting office for reporting violations of the legal provisions covered by § 3 UVHG, insofar as these are matters of state legislation. Access to the external reporting office should be available to all natural persons who have obtained information about violations in the course of their professional activities (see § 13 UVHG).
