The three cities of Bruneck, Pieve di Cadore, and Lienz have set themselves the goal of jointly dealing with the "sponge city" planting method. This method involves planting trees in a way that ensures a long lifespan for the trees in urban environments and also improves rainwater absorption by the trees, thereby relieving the urban drainage system. As part of the project, both implementations will take place and a study will be conducted on how to transform aheavily built parking lot into a climate-fit parking lot. The cities aim to learn from each other. The project is funded by the Interreg program CLLD Dolomiti Live and is considered a flagship project for other cities and municipalities in the program area. In order for other local authorities to benefit in the future, there will be a brochure on this page discussing the challenges and approaches chosen in each city, as well as the results achieved by the project partners.
