Parking with mobile app now possible in Lienz

In Lienz, drivers can now pay for their parking tickets with their smartphones at all 922 city parking spaces. This means they are no longer dependent on the 32 ticket machines.

In the Sun City Lienz, since Wednesday, May 17, when parking in fee-required zones, you are no longer dependent on small change. Instead of rummaging through your wallet for the right coins or exchanging a banknote somewhere, you can now conveniently pay the parking fee with your smartphone in the district capital.

Due to the experience gained, we have decided to offer this citizen-friendly service as part of our digitization initiative as wellparking fees apply. Those who park with the Parkster app pay the same as at the parking meter.

Save on fines

To be able to purchase a digital parking ticket, you need the Parkster app on your smartphone. It is available for Android devices and the iPhone for free in the App Store. After downloading, the registration takes place, where parking users have to enter their Visa/Mastercard data. If you do not want to disclose sensitive data on the Internet, you have the option to pay by invoice with Parkster. For this, the driver receives a monthly invoice from Parkster via email (free of charge) or by post (€2.99 incl. VAT per invoice), which lists their parking transactions in detail. The driver can choose which option to use. After the registration is completed, the drivers then enter their license plate and parking duration into the app.

Another advantage of the digital parking ticket: The parking user can extend the parking time with his mobile phone up to the maximum parking duration. This still remains at three hours in short-term parking zones. So, there is no longer any reason to fear a parking ticket if you sit longer in the waiting room at the doctor"s than planned. If you return to the vehicle earlier, you can even end the digital parking ticket prematurely, saving parking fees.

Regarding the parking ticket controls, the change is that the city employees can now also view the issued parking tickets via the Parkster app. This way, they can see directly whether a ticket has been issued and whether it is still valid.

Reliable Partner

The processing in the background is regulated by the cooperation partner "Parkster". For many years, the company has been marketing solutions for parking space management for cities and municipalities, tourism associations, and parking space operators. "We have made it our mission to make digital parking as simple, transparent, and customer-friendly as possible," says Patrik Lundberg, Managing Director of Parkster GmbH.
