With the creation of three rehearsal rooms, the city of Lienz responded to the inquiries from many young musicians. These have now been completed and can be used by the bands in the future.
It is not uncommon for small rooms to be the basis for the fulfillment of large dreams. The name garage band is no coincidence. Long before the stars of the music industry fill huge halls, they are working on their musical skills in a small treasury. But what if the dream of it already fails due to the lack of space?
In Lienz you now counteract this by converting a building acquired in 2017 in the industrial area for around 36,000 euros. The municipal farm alone did a total of 420 working hours. "We have adapted and renovated three rooms that we now want to provide young, but also established musicians," emphasize Christopher Handl and Manuela Miglar from the City of Lienz"s City.
The rooms with their triple -glazed windows and the functioning heating system are suitable for both solo artists and bands. "The largest room measures 35 square meters, the second 27 square meters and the third 16 square meters," explains Mayor Elisabeth Blanik. There is also an anteroom and a toilet.
What is missing are various measures for the ideal room acoustics. "In this question we will still have discussions with the users of the premises, as they often bring good experience in this area," says Elisabeth Blanik.
The organization is also based on the organization between the bands when using the premises. Rent is not due. "The artists only pay their share in the operating costs," emphasizes the mayor.
