With the completion of the construction work in Muchargasse, large parts of the Lienz city center now have a continuous traffic regulation.

In time for the Christmas holidays, the construction work for the design of the two remaining construction lots in Muchargasse could be completed. This integrates the historic old town passage, which extends to the historical city wall, perfectly into the design and development process that is making the city gradually more beautiful and attractive.

The fact that in recent days three new business openings could already be celebrated in Muchargasse shows the impetus effect of the visual connection to the sales-strong city center.

The official opening of the street passage with citizens will be celebrated next year in one of the warmer seasons, but the completion of the construction work and the now valid traffic solution for the meeting zone was already completed on Thursday, December 12th. “With the completion of the construction work in Muchargasse, we have consistent traffic control in large parts of the city center,” says Mayor Elisabeth Blanik, who, together with the parliamentary group leaders of all parties in the local council, opened up the meeting zone with local traffic in Muchargasse.

In addition to the Muchargasse, the Messinggasse, the Zwergergasse, and the Rosengasse, including the Johannesplatz and parts of the Andrä Kranz-Gasse, are also part of the meeting zone. The eastern part of the Andrä Kranz-Gasse merges into the Hauptlatz, which is designated as a pedestrian zone.

In meeting zones with resident traffic, drivers are only allowed to drive if they are residents or if their route leads to a resident or a business located there. Using the meeting zone as a thoroughfare is prohibited.
