The TAP Calendar 2025 is dedicated to old Lienz stores

12 interesting retrospectives can be found in the new TAP calendar, which will be available from Wednesday, December 4, starting at 8 a.m. at the Citizen Service of the City of Lienz.

The special feature of the new calendar from the Tyrolean Archive for Photographic Documentation and Art (TAP) for the year 2025 is that it focuses on the historical stores in the city. For this purpose, archive director Martin Kofler has reviewed many collections, which are presented for the first time in excerpts in the calendar.

The selection goes back to the early 20th century, with the "Eisenhandlung Max Keller" at Johannesplatz. Space is also given to the business facades in street photographs. This results in a thematic range that extends from the Geiger/Mahl – Zanier – Sigwart business line in Andrä-Kranz-Gasse in the 1930s, to the "Fleischerei Prentner" and "Babyhaus Glanzl" at Neuer Platz (today Egger-Lienz-Platz) and to the business passage at Oberhueberhaus opposite the train station in the 1960s.

The cover image is from the Baptist collection and shows the photo store Baptist (until 2014) in Andrä-Kranz-Gasse, the Erlach"s "Drogerie zum Kreuz", the "Papierhandlung Geiger" and the "Schuhhaus Fuchs".

With Johanna Geiger asFounder of the trading company "Textil Geiger" at Hauptplatz 1892, which still exists today, one can travel from the past to the present.

All photographs are from private individuals who have been handed over to the TAP. The city of Lienz acts as the publisher of the calendar. The calendar, which is perfect as a Christmas gift, can be purchased from Wednesday, December 4, 2024, from 8 a.m. at the Citizen Service Office Lienz on the ground floor of Liebburg. The limited edition is 500 pieces and costs 15 euros per calendar.  

Mayor Elisabeth Blanik: "From the sales proceeds, 10 euros go to the immediate social assistance fund of the city, the other 5 euros go to the TAP for the reliable calendar concept, including informative short texts on almost 70 years of visual history of large and small businesses in Lienz."
