Old Christmas trees are collected for free

After the Christmas season, many beautiful Christmas trees that adorned the apartments and houses of the people of Lienz are now shedding their needles.    
In Lienz, the municipal council has been organizing a free collection and recycling of Christmas trees for almost 25 years after the New Year, thus offering the residents of Lienz the opportunity to dispose of their trees at all 66 collection points in the city area.

These trees are then shredded in the composting plant of the city of Lienz and processed into several 100 cubic meters of compost soil. Therefore, it is important that the disposed trees are clean, free of tinsel, decorations, and hooks.

   
For safety reasons, please place the discarded Christmas trees in a space-saving and non-obstructive manner at the public collection points. Thank you!
