Lienz elementary school students transformed dull gray into a colorful fantasy world

Kinder zeichnen mit Kreide einen großen Blumenentwurf auf der Straße und haben viel Spaß dabei.

As part of the European Mobility Week, Lienz elementary school students shifted the area of their creative arts to the street and conjured colorful motifs on the asphalt.

An entire street, right in front of the school, served as a large canvas for colorful paintings for the children of the Lienz South and Michael Gamper elementary schools from Monday to Friday - daily from 9:50 am to 10:20 am, as part of the European Mobility Week and in collaboration with the city of Lienz.

Equipped with colorful chalks and a lot of imagination, they transformed the dull gray of the asphalt into a blooming meadow with united forces. In addition to flowers, the little artists also conjured rainbows, suns, animals, insects, and even people on the cold surface of the temporarily closed street for traffic.

For Stefan Schrott, principal of the Lienz South elementary school, the week under the motto "Space-FAIRsharing" was a complete success. "The children came together in different groups across school and class boundaries and experienced firsthand how wonderful it is to have this street area for themselves." This was also confirmed by Principal Carolin Steiner of the Michael Gamper elementary school.

The end of the week was then crowned musically. Accompanied by Edwin Frotschnig on the guitar, more than 200 students sang a cheerful song together with their teachers before returning to their respective classrooms.
