Lienz celebrated European Mobility Week with a festival

The European Mobility Week celebrates its 24th anniversary. The city of Lienz also participates and linked this to the festive opening of the meeting zone in Muchargasse on Friday, September 19, from 10 am to 3 pm.

For the 24th time, the European Mobility Week takes place from September 16 to 22. The action week, which concludes in many cities and municipalities with a car-free day, has developed over more than two decades into a potpourri of various measures aimed at increasing the use of soft mobility and anchoring it in the consciousness of the citizens.

In Lienz, the European Mobility Week was linked to the festive opening of the meeting zone in Muchargasse on Friday, September 19. From 10 am to 3 pm, interested visitors could learn about FLUGS-eCarsharing and take a test drive.

Also presented was the rickshaw offer from the Volunteer Center Osttirol/Privatstiftung Lienzer Sparkasse. This form of transportation is especially ideal for those people for whom walking is no longer quite so easy. These individuals can be comfortably and environmentally friendly chauffeured, but it requires drivers who are willing to take on this task voluntarily. Of course, on September 19, there was also something for children: they could get creative at a painting table, take a ride around with the rickshaw, and take a photo with "Edgar", the mascot of the European Mobility Week.

Furthermore, the businesses and entrepreneurs of the charming old town alley presented themselves to a wide audience. As a small surprise "to go", or for lingering, there was something delicious to enjoy: a cake in cobblestone design that was distributed among the passersby.
