First cycling and exploration day in the Lienz valley floor

Am Samstag, 26. September, lud der Planungsverband 36 – Lienzer Talboden erstmals zu „Radeln & Erkunden“ ein. Nach dem Startschuss um 9.30 Uhr am Bahnhof Lienz machten sich zahlreiche Mayor nen und Bürgermeister gemeinsam mit den Teilnehmenden auf drei Routen Richtung Ainet, Nikolsdorf und Assling auf den Weg.

"I am very pleased that so many visitors have accepted the invitation," emphasizes Mayor Elisabeth Blanik. "This shows how much the people in the Lienz valley floor enjoy using the newly designed everyday cycle paths and how much they appreciate them."

Along the routes, the Pegelhaus Oberlienz, the Adventure Park East Tyrol, the Aguntum Museum, the Lienz Talboden sewage treatment plant, and the Assling Fire Department Center, among others, opened their doors. Tours and conversations provided insights into areas that are not easily accessible otherwise.

Direct exchange was at the center for the municipalities. "The event was very well received and demonstrated how important these intermunicipal connections are in everyday life," explains Chairman BR Mayor Markus Stotter. "We want to continue the project "Everyday Cycle Paths" in the interest of the users."

The aim of the project of Planning Association 36 is to better link residential areas, workplaces, and educational institutions, as well as public transport, through good cycling connections. It is supported by the BMIMI, climate-active mobile, and the state of Tyrol.
