In Lienz you can shop again in the moonlight

On Thursday, July 16, the city center of Lienz transforms into a large moonlight promenade inviting everyone to shop, enjoy, and feel good in the evening.

Spending the day by the lake, at the pool, or in the mountains and later strolling comfortably through the picturesque city center of Lienz for shopping in the warm evening hours: That"s exactly what the popular "Moonlight Shopping" in Lienz stands for in the summer, now in its 18th edition.

There is a lot on offer: shopping experiences in a relaxed atmosphere, delicious specialties and drinks, as well as lively live music from various bands.

Twice a year, in July and August, the old town of Lienz turns into a large promenade. The event is organized by the local business street associations in cooperation with the city marketing of Lienz. Over 140 businesses with a total of around 23,000 m² of downtown retail space open their doors longer on these two summer evenings – a true success story with tradition.

Shopping tour for all senses

You can discover individual unique pieces, but also special moonlight shopping offers, with the range of products from downtown businesses being both exquisite, stylish, and diverse at the same time. When the sounds of live music play and you can enjoy culinary delights melting on your tongue, you feel like the star in your own movie. In the setting of the sunny city of Lienz, which once again sets accents as a friendly, lively shopping city.

Stroll through the gourmet mile

Genüsslich starten kann man beispielsweise am Hauptplatz und in der Andrä-Kranz-Gasse, wo sich stimmungsvolle Gastgärten und attraktive Geschäfte aneinanderreihen. Das Team von H12 erwartet seine Gäste mit Fotobox und Glücksrad. Für die kleinen Besucher gibt es ein Würfelspiel mit tollen Preisen. Musikalisch sorgen Eva & Moni sowie Norman Stolz & Friends für Stimmung, während am Unteren Hauptplatz ein Kinderbereich für Unterhaltung sorgt.

Auch die Obere Altstadt weiß zu begeistern: Den Weg dorthin weisen beleuchtete, schwebende Monde als stimmungsvolle Dekoration. Wer dort ankommt, findet einen breitgefächerten Mix aus bestens sortierten Filialisten, topmodischen Boutiquen und spezialisierten Fachgeschäften. Am Johannesplatz lädt die „Lange Tafel“ zum gemeinsamen Bankett ein. Brauereiwirt Artur Wieser und sein Team verwöhnen die Gäste kulinarisch, während die Stereotypen für musikalische Stimmung sorgen. Direkt nebenan hält die Bäckerei Joast verschiedene Focaccia-Spezialitäten sowie erfrischende Italian Summer-Bowls bereit.

Weiter geht die Flaniertour durch die malerische Messing- und Kreuzgasse mit ihren attraktiven Betrieben. In der Werkstätte der Lebenshilfe kann man den geschickten Handwerkern über die Schulter schauen, während Kyera & Band mit flottem Pop und Rock für den passenden Klangteppich sorgt – ideal zum Verweilen und entspannten Genießen.

The tour concludes in the newly designed historical Muchargasse, at the adjacent Egger-Lienz-Platz, the Chess Club Lienz invites you to exciting games of outdoor chess. If you would like to enjoy the atmosphere of Moonlight Shopping for longer, you can listen to the sounds of Anras Brass and DJ Gerotto in Zwergergasse, while Edith Hombach pampers the visitors with culinary delights.
